CeNS, Philippines, joins the PASCAL Learning Cities Networks (LCN) initiative

We are delighted to welcome the Centre for Neighbourhood Studies (CeNS) in the Philippines to PASCAL’s Learning Cities Networks. Inspired by its ‘mother’ Centre, the GCRF-funded, Centre Sustainable, Healthy and Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods (SHLC),

CeNS is an independent non-government, non-profit research and technology organisation that promotes, develops, and enhances research and development, capacity, and partnership-building in environmental and neighbourhood planning and other related fields of endeavour to achieve a smarter and sustainable neighbourhood.

With the neighbourhoods as its key focus, CeNS began with the aim of bridging the gap between communities and higher levels of government.  CeNS is represented in the LCNs by:

Learning City materials

Good to know that learning cities are increasing in number. Although now retired I keep in touch with developments.

I have been putting together all the learning city materials from the European Commission projects and the European lifelong learning initiative into one easy-to-download website - free of charge. They include lessons for stakeholders, indicators, helpful diagrams for use by any city and its stakeholders, including citizens themselves.

They can be found on longlearn.info  and, as stated, are completely free to download and use.

The website is a little untidy but everything is there.  Please feel free to use it.

Learning City materials

Dear Norman, That is good to know, and it is important to have a reservoir of material to draw on and not forget the past. You will know no doubt that Eurolocal is still alive as a website.
