ALADIN Online Alert 20

The ALADIN Online Alert is a joint ALADIN initiative, produced bimonthly by the UIL Library and CDÉACF, with input from additional ALADIN members from all over the world. Its goal is to share recent online and full-text information and documents in the area of adult and lifelong learning.

PASCAL Board member Peter Kearns honored by the Lord Mayor of Cork

Recently, the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Tony Fitzgerald, invited PASCAL Board member Peter Kearns OAM FACE, to a civic reception at which he presented Peter with a citation for his contribution towards Cork as a lifelong learning city and their UNESCO 3rd International  Conference on Learning Cities in 2016. 

Overstretched Cities

PASCAL subscribers may be interested in a recent series on 'Overstretched Cities' published by the Guardian newspaper in the UK. The series looks at cities across every continent. One of the blogs includes a short profile on Kigali one of the case study cities within the GCRF Centre for Sustainable Healthy Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods of which I'm Senior Business Manager.

Vison Sofia

The long term development strategy for Sofia and the region is an initiative of the Sofia Municipality, which started at the end of 2016 with the objective of creating a system of interaction, and analysis of the current condition of Sofia.

PASCAL Briefing Paper 11 - Big Data, Lifelong Learning and Learning Cities: Promoting city-discourse on social inequalities in learning

The 11th Briefing Paper from PASCAL is now available in English, Korean and simplified Mandarin. It concerns the topic of Big Data and its relationship with learning cities and is written by Catherine Lido, Kate Reid and Mike Osborne from the PASCAL Centre for Europe in Glasgow.
