UNESCO-UIS: Sustainable Development Group (SDG) 4 Webinar Series
Throughout September, the UIS is organizing a webinar series to highlight the technical and political initiatives underway to implement the new SDG education indicator framework. Special focus will be given to the areas that are difficult to measure, such as education quality, learning, equity and inclusion:
- Are countries ready to face the challenges of the SDG 4 – Education 2030 measurement agenda?
- How should measures of children who are “developmentally-on-track” be defined?
- What areas of learning are considered globally relevant and why?
- What will it take to produce robust and relevant monitoring of equity in education?
These and other issues will be explored by international experts, policymakers, donors and civil society organizations in the webinars moderated by the UIS.
REGISTER to be a part of these discussions that will take place at 10.00-11.00 EDT // 16.00-17.00 CET on:
7 Sept: Global and thematic education indicators – what next?
15 Sept: Towards a workable strategy to measure learning
22 Sept: The importance of early interventions: How to measure child development?
29 Sept: Equity in learning: Leaving no one behind in the SDG 4 monitoring agenda

The world as a whole gathers only about half of the data needed to monitor progress towards the global education targets, according to a new UIS report, Laying the Foundation to Measure Sustainable Development Goal 4 (featured below). It offers a roadmap to better measure SDG 4 and address the data gaps, as shown in the UNESCO eAtlas for Education 2030. - See more at: http://www.uis.unesco.org/Education/Pages/sdg-4-data-webinar-series.aspx
