UNESCO Learning City Awards 2017
It is our great pleasure to inform you that the UNESCO Learning City Award 2017 is now open for applications:
Many cities around the world are committed to developing innovative strategies that will help them transform their cities into learning cities. The Award aims to recognize and showcase good practice in building learning cities around the world. We hope that the Award will provide cities with the recognition they deserve and further inspire the building of learning cities.
We cordially invite cities from around the world to submit their applications. They can do this by:
- Filling in the Award Application Form and gathering any necessary supporting information.
- Ensuring the Award Application Form is signed by the mayor.
- Signing the Consent Form.
- Scanning and emailing the application to their country’s National Commission for UNESCO.
The closing date for applications is 31 August 2016. Further information can be found on the UNESCO GNLC website.
In order to apply for the UNESCO Learning City Award, cities must be members of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. Membership of this Network is free of charge and open to cities around the world that share the vision of promoting education and lifelong learning in their communities.
We would greatly appreciate your support in publicizing the UNESCO Learning City Award 2017 by communicating this information to your network. We look forward to receiving applications that demonstrate exemplary practice from cities around the world.
