Erbil - Learning City developments
PASCAL subscribers will be interested to know that since the announcement that Erbil is planning to join the PASCAL Learning City Networks project, and sending a delegation to the Catania conference; I am being contacting by over a hundred people every day.
Also the Kurdish media are talking extensively about the project. At this link to Rudaw, the number one news site in Kurdistan, it says: Erbil become the first in the Middle East to join LCN and mentions how PASCAL have supported us.
Another news site in Kurdistan says: Erbil will join LCN, and shows a photograph of our colleague Sherwan Taha who is currently studying as a postgraduate at the PASCAL centre in Europe, the University of Glasgow. His thesis will be on the development of the Learning City of Erbil under the supervision of PASCAL Director, Professor Michael Osborne

Welcome to Erbil
We are delighted that the city of Erbil in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Iraq, is the latest city to join Learning Cities Networks, following a request from Mr Tahir Abdulla Osman, Deputy Governor of the city.
In addition, we very much look forward to meeting a delegation from the country in Catania in October at the 12th PASCAL Conference.
