Lamine Kane was born in Senegal and educated in Senegal and England befire working as a Research Fellow in social anthropology in Brussels in Belgium. He returned to Senegal where he has worked for almost 30 years in adult education in one context or another. He now lives in Dakar and works in teacher education and adult learning.

Le projet d’alphabétisation de l’UNESCO dans la Région du Fleuve au Sénégal, Juin 1993

I have conceived and conducted a training seminar for Adult Education Cadres in Guinea Bissau on the ‘Monitoring and Evaluation of Adult Literacy Programmes.  This was organized under the UNESCO Project: GBS/96/008 en Guinea Bissau, Nov – Dec 1997 

At the end of the seminar, I produced a book on Training Techniques in the Field of Monitoring and Evaluation of Adult Education Programmes. The book was edited by UNESCO/BREDA in December 1997.

Member of the Evaluating team of the Project :’Promotion de la Femme et des Jeunes au Sénégal Oriental et dans la Région de Dakar, de la Mission Française de Coopération et d’Action culturelle, Mars - Mai 1998

I ensured the Technical supervision of the National Evaluation of the UNESCO GBS/96/008 Project , in Guinea Bissau., Mai- June 1998

I helped their National Team in:

  • The Conception, design of an internal Evaluation techniques ;
  • The production of an Evaluation Report
  • Conducting an external Evaluation.
