PASCAL Welcomes Seoul to PIE (PASCAL International Exchanges)
Seoul has become the second Korean city to participate in the PIE exchanges. Korea, with China, has been one of the leaders in the rapid expansion of learning cities in East Asia in the last decade so that the addition of Seoul to the PIE exchanges will add much value in demonstrating the features that have driven learning city development in Korea.
The Seoul Stimulus Paper by Dr Jeongyun Lee from the University of Tokyo provides insights into city policy for this initiative, as well as individual initiatives such as the Seoul Citizens College. The focus on the humanities is a point of interest to be noted, while the 2013 reorganisation of lifelong learning promotion under the slogan “happy lifelong learning wake me up and change the world” brings a distinctive note into the initiative. May this happen.
