Cork Lifelong Learning Festival
Cork

Its motto is Investigate, Participate, Celebrate, and the public can do that by watching demonstrations, trying out skills, and seeing others, from the young to the old, show off what they are learning.

The seventh Cork Lifelong Learning Festival will build on the success of previous years, with over 320 free events taking place across the city in a variety of venues among them shopping centres, libraries, colleges, community and resource centres, schools, sports grounds, parks and museums. All festival events are free.

Colourful free festival programmes will be available in mid-March from this site as well as all library branches, shops and all the organisations involved.

Events include demonstrations, exhibitions, tours, introductory classes, information sessions, seminars, workshops, talks.

The emphasis is on fun and on taking learning out among the public as much as possible. There are displays and performances in shopping centres and on the streets. Also, there are plenty of opportunities for the public not just to watch but also to join in and try out a skill.

The festival promotes and celebrates learning of all kinds and is organised by the Learning Forum, set up under the Cork City Development Board to address the key theme of Cork as a City of Learning.
